A Letter from the President
Dear Therapists,
I did manage a year off but am delighted to take on the President's role this year. I will be assisted by Lisa Millington who has taken the Vice President's role. We do have a few new committee members and I welcome them all to our growing association.
We have now been established 8 years and I do find the Cosmetic Tattoo business growing in all directions especially the Medical side of this industry. I am pleased to see half of our members now offering Breast recolouring for cancer patients.
The industry has a population that is continually changing with new therapists coming into this attractive industry, whilst some new and older therapists leave this career. Many learn the art and then find they are not suited or their training was not sufficient to ensure their confidence or they experience difficult clients, have problems with their equipment or understanding colours.
You may have just completed your class in this art or maybe, like me, have been in the industry over 20 years but believe me there is still so much to learn. Many therapists learn Cosmetic Tattoo and think they don’t need to progress and learn anything more, how mistaken they are. One of the reasons this Association started was to assist those who have learnt but experience problems with nowhere to turn for advice. One thing I can assure you is that we can and will offer help to each and every member.
Networking is the answer to so many problems, you cannot network by yourself!
I have continually updated my skills and have attended over 15 advanced classes both here in Australia and the U.S.A. I will travel to Germany for yet another new class in 2012. I am so pleased that our Association is now in a financial position to bring great trainers from all over the world to Australia to bring their knowledge and experience, this years trainer was Rose Marie Beauchemin from Beau Institute she presented a fantastic 2 day seminar on Breast work and on Colour Theory and how our procedure must suit the facial shape. Last year we welcomed Jeanne Lusby from San Diego and the year before Chantelle Chow and previous we had Susan Church on her fantastic Skin Needling Seminar.
Who will it be in 2012! You must wait but I can assure you it will be the best we can bring to you.
Let's all share our knowledge this Association needs everyone of you to work together.
Please read through our code of ethics and download your membership application form today.
